As the premier international tournament for English 8 Ball, the WEPF World Championships provide New Zealand players with the opportunity to test their skills against the world’s best and represent their country on the global stage.
Qualifying for the New Zealand team
Each year, the World Championship teams are selected based on the NZIEF National Ranking Lists (Ladies, Men & Juniors).
Players can earn ranking points in NZIEF Ranking Tournaments, with selection following a straightforward process.
Selection Process
- The highest-ranked player is selected first.
- If a player qualifies for multiple categories (e.g., Men’s & Over 50s), they can choose which category to compete in.
- A player can only compete in one category.
- The selection process continues down the ranking list until all team category spots are filled.
- If a player declines their selection, the next eligible ranked player may be chosen.
